"It is more important to know what kind of person has a disease than to know what kind of disease a person has" - Hippocrates
Many people are curious about what the logo for Kathleen Lee Acupuncture means. The symbol pictured above is Hexagram #11 from the IChing, an ancient Chinese book on philosophy. The symbol is representative of the equilibrium and peace held when Heaven sits above Earth. This is a symbol that embodies balance, inner peace and harmony. It is when Yin and Yang are at ultimate balance with one another. This is why it is the symbol that she chose to represent her practice and it is the intention that Kathleen holds in all of her treatments. In particular, when addressing patients going through challenging moments in life.
Kathleen has advanced training in Five Element Acupuncture which is a time-honored medicine that uses the principles of nature to bring the body, mind and spirit into balance. Modern acupuncture oftentimes affects change at the physical level, but by incorporating the mind and spirit into the treatment, Kathleen's treatments address the deeper root causes of suffering.
In particular, Five Element Acupuncture is an effective tool to support patients who are experiencing:
- transitions in life
- grief or loss
